Amber Verhulst’s Story

Posted on Oct 21, 2014 by in Story |

Hi my name is Amber and I have a daughter Alyssa who is 8. She has childhood absence epilepsy.

We have been dealing with it for about 4 years now and she is on 3 different meds for it and she is still having her episodes.

When she has one, she stares of in to space plays and with her fingers. She has no idea what is going on during, and they last anywhere from a minute to a second. She just had an EEG and they are still seeing them.

Her meds consist of 1750 mg a day. Also she has had some learning problems due to all the meds. She struggles everyday at school and at home. As a parent, I wish therr was somthing more I could do to help her. She constantly shakes and her stomach is always hurting. I just wish there was an easier way to go about this other them all the meds they giver her.
