Samuel Busch’s Story

Posted on Oct 14, 2014 by in Story |

I was diagnosed at the age of 2 with Medically Refractory Epilepsy.

wedding-announcementI am now 38 years old, and the longest I have gone seizure free has been is almost 6 months. I know for a lot of people that is a long time, but I have never had the opportunity to drive.

I tell my wife all the time that people with the “plastic card” are taking driving for granted. I would do anything for the opportunity to drive a car. I have been to several different doctors and have been on a few drug studies and have been in the hospital to have testing done for seizure surgery.

I am at my last resort to go to the National Institute of Health to have a 2 week video EEG done. They contacted me. They are going to pay my way but not for my wife. I am scared to travel that far across country by myself. That is why I have enclosed the fundraiser website for the trip. I am willing to share any other details about the struggles and blessings that I have had because of my seizures. Please ask. I would love to also start some support group for bullying and epilepsy.I experience a lot of bullying growing up due to my epilepsy and also my stature. I have also been talking to a movie producer to work on a story about the issue. I am really wanting to make a stand.

Help us travel across the country for a more comprehensive Video EEG:
